Women's Basketball Falls at Albertus Magnus, 99-90
Six-foot junior center Rah-Rah Thompson scored 28 points, grabbed 31 rebounds and blocked six shots to lead Albertus Magnus College to a 99-90 win over Westfield State in a non-conference women’s basketball game in New Haven, Conn., on Wednesday night.
Hockey Sweeps Weekly Awards
WESTFIELD, Mass. - Westfield State men's ice hockey members Kameron Limburg (Howell, Mich.), Jake Ratcliffe (Canterbury, New Zealand), and John-Michael DiGregorio (Montreal, Quebec) swept the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) weekly awards this past week ending November 30th.
Honors For Vawn Lord, Owls' Basketball
Westfield State University men’s basketball picked up several significant honors, as senior guard Vawn Lord (West Springfield, Mass./Amherst HS) was named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference player of the week as sponsored by Geico, and the Owls’ team and coach Rich Sutter were recognized as the National Association of Basketball Coaches Division III Team of the Week, after the Owls knocked off #3-ranked Amherst, 68-67 on Tuesday, November 26.

WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State sophomore forward Jake Ratcliffe (Canterbury, New Zealand) netted a hat trick in the Owls’ 6-2 win over Johnson and Wales on Tuesday night at Amelia Park Ice Arena.
Westfield State Upsets #3 Amherst for Coach Rich Sutter's 300th Career Win
Westfield State University senior forward Jauch Green, Jr. scored on a drive with 3.7 seconds left to lift the Owls to perhaps the biggest upset in program history, toppling #3 ranked Amherst College, 68-67, to give Westfield State head coach Rich Sutter his 300th career win at the Woodward Center on Tuesday night.
Julia Dolce Named to NWGC Academic All-Conference Team
WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State junior women’s golfer Julia Dolce (Bristol, Conn. / St. Paul) was named to the inaugural Northeast Women’s Golf Conference Academic All-Conference team, the league recently released.
McKenna Named LEC Diver of the Week
Wetsfield State sophomore diver Hannah McKenna (Methuen, Mass.) was named the Little East Conference diver of the week for the week ending Nov. 24.
Owls Torpedo Mariners With Big Second Half
Jauch Green Jr. (Hartford, Conn./Cromwell) netted a game-high 33 points on 13-for-26 shooting to lead the Owls.

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Seniors Robert Neuwirth (Ziln, Czech Republic) and Francois-Xavier Girard (St. Lazare, Que.) had a goal and an assist each to force a 4-4 tie with Fitchburg State University in MASCAC action on Saturday afternoon.
