WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State University athletics will host the 20th Annual Owl Club Golf Tournament, a fundraiser for the program, on Monday, June 22 at the Ranch Golf Club in Southwick.
Westfield Gas and Electric and Whip City Fiber general manager Tom Flaherty will be the guest of honor for the event, recognizing WGE's contributions in support of Westfield State athletics, where they have sponsored women's basketball and women's soccer tip-off and kick-off tournaments, and their investment in the community where they have been a lead sponsor in the turf fields project at Westfield High School.
The Owl Club tournament celebrates its 20th year supporting the Westfield State varsity athletics program, and proceeds from the tournament annually provides $25,000 in support to the Owls' Smith Cup-winning athletic teams.
The tournament is a scramble format, to ensure fun competition for golfers of all levels, and the registration fee includes 18-holes of golf with cart, a tee gift, lunch and a bbq dinner after the round. Competitions on the course include long drive, pot-or-gold, closest to the pin on par 3's, and a putting contest.
Westfield Bank serves as the lead sponsor of the event.
