Owls Compete at Coast Guard Spring Invitational
Eliza Lee won the long jump and the triple jump to lead Westfield State
Westfield State's Eliza Lee won the long jump and the triple jump to lead the Westfield State women's track and field team's efforts at the Coast Guard Invitational meet in New London, Conn. on Saturday.
Lee won the triple jump 11.46m a mark that has her tied for 11th on the NCAA D3 performance list. She won long jump with a leap of 5.62 meters, and placed fourth 400 hurdles 1:07.49.
Owl women placed ninth out of 11 scoring teams at the meet with 48 points. Coast Guard won the meet with 151 points.
Other top results for the Owls included Bella Coughlin placing fourth in long jump with a mark of 5.22 meters, and Devin Whalen taking fifth in the 100 hurdles with a time of 16.49 seconds.
The Owls 4x100 relay placed third in 49.80.
Westfield will next send select athlete to the Conn College for the Camel's invitational on Friday, then return home for the Jerry Gravel Invitational meet on Saturday, which will also be the Owls' senior day.
