Hockey Places 10 Student-Athletes on AHCA/Krampade All-American Scholars Team
Honors given to student-athletes who attained a 3.75 GPA for each semester and met athletic qualifications as well.
WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State men's ice hockey placed ten student-athletes on the tenth annual American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) Krampade "All-American Scholars," recognizing student-athletes for their outstanding efforts both in the classroom and on the ice.
Earning placement on the list for the Owls were:
Forwards – Cooper Board (Glen Ellyn, Ill.), Louis Ouellet (Baie-Comeau, Quebec), Jesper Seeberg (Lake Worth, Fla.), Emile Tremblay (Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, Quebec)
Defenders – William Chausse (La Prairie, Quebec), Jere Puronlahti (Helsinki, Finland), Steven Sedivy-Blengino (Prague, Czech Republic), Raphael Seguin (Saint-Lazare, Quebec)
Goalies – Noah Davis (Calgary, Alberta), Aiden Winslow (Jacksonville, Fla.)
To qualify, a student-athlete must have attained a 3.75 GPA for each semester, and had to appear in 40% of the team's games. Exceptions were granted to injured players and back-up goalies. Schools also were required to be members of the AHCA.
Not only did these student-athletes achieve high marks in the classroom but helped lead the Owls to their first MASCAC Championship appearance in program history while finishing with an overall record of 18-8-2. Board and Seguin, who served as team captains, were named to the MASCAC all-conference teams while Board also earned Westfield State University's Male Scholar Athlete of the Year and Male Athlete of the Year.
In total, 994 Division II and III men and women were recognized.
