Ware Leads Owls at Trinity Invite
Westfield State will next compete at the 2026 MASCAC Track and Field Championships at Fitchburg State on Saturday, April 25.
John Ware's second-place finish in the javelin with a throw of 55.67 meters headlined Westfield State's results as the Owl men finished ninth in the men's team scoring with a small group of athletes competing at the Trinity Invitational Meet in Hartford, Conn. on Saturday.
Xavier Merkman took third in the discus throw with a mark of 44.48 meters.
Other performances from the Owls included the 4x100 team placig fifth in 43.68 seconds, Jordan Stallworth was seventh in the 100 meters hitting the tape in 11.21 seconds. Daniel Shea placed sixth in long jump with a mark of 6.21 meters, and Devan Cerone was eighth 1.82 meters in high jump.
