Julia Robak Earns Westfield State Female Scholar Athlete of the Year
The senior goalkeeper earned the highest cumulative grade-point average of any female athlete in her class while also backstopping the Owls women’s soccer team to a conference championship this season.
WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State senior women's soccer player Julia Robak (Chicopee, Mass.) was named Westfield State University's Female Scholar Athlete of the Year as presented at the Student Athlete Advisory Committee Senior and Awards night on May 4.
The senior scholar athlete award is named to the male and female student-athlete who have the highest cumulative grade-point average.
Robak, an English major and goalkeeper for the women's soccer team, combined her academic excellence with tremendous skill on the field as she was named the MASCAC Defensive Player of the Year this past season after posting a 0.67 goals-against average and had a .861 save percentage. She recorded seven shutouts and a 9-3-4 record in net, leading the conference in both goals against and save percentage.
Robak was brilliant in the Owls conference championship run this season, registering a pair of shutouts to propel Westfield into the NCAA Tournament.
She has had an outstanding four-year career for the Owls, playing in 59 matches with a record of 35-15-6, and has 17 total and 12 shared shutouts, and a 0.97 GAA and a .804 save percentage and is a three-time MASCAC Champion.
Robak was presented with the award by Faculty Athletics Representative Dr. Paul Cacolice during the ceremony.
