Westfield State first year baseball player Nick Marshall (Reading, Mass.) recently won the “Shot for Life” Home Run Derby – with a remarkable 31 home runs – as a tribute to his grandparents and their battles with cancer.
Westfield State University student-athletes recently received a number of academic honors from their sport associations to close out the 2020-21 academic year.
Westfield State University senior outfielder Nick Martin (Shrewsbury, Mass.) and senior starting pitcher Shane Bogli (Vernon, Conn/Vernon-Rockville HS) stood out in recent opportunities against high level competition.
"I'm pumped, I'm excited," said Bogli. "I thought it was cool when it was announced that the Blues would have a chance to play the national team, but I am really happy to get the start. It's something I will remember for the rest of my life, and I want to make the most of it."

Memorial Day weekend is the unofficial start of summer, and plenty of Westfield State University baseball athletes will be in action this summer in a variety of collegiate summer leagues across the Northeast.
Led by first team selections Brett Dooley, Ethan Day, and Bryant Dana, Westfield State University had eight players named to the 2021 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference baseball all-conference team.
The Owls won game 1 by a 9-4 score, and dropped game 2 by a 3-1 final.

The Owls have been ranked all five weeks of the poll, which recognizes the top eight teams in the New England Region.

estfield State senior Sean Moorhouse (Westfield, Mass.) knocked out four hits in the doubleheader and classmate Shane Bogli (Vernon, Conn.) picked up the win in game one as the Owls split a non-conference doubleheader with Bridgewater State at Bud and Jim Hagan Field on Friday afternoon.
The Owls are now 15-3 on the season, and 6-2 in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletics Conference.

Westfield State senior pitcher Nate Langmeier (East Granby, Conn.) tossed a complete game shutout in game two, and the Owls got home runs from Casey Boudreau and Ethan Day as Westfield swept Bridgewater State in a non-conference baseball doubleheader by scores, of 5-3 and 8-0.
BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Westfield State baseball’s eight-game winning streak was snapped, as Bridgewater State posted late rallies in both games to sweep a MASCAC doubleheader from the Owls, 7-6 in game 1, and 4-2 in game 2.
