The Owls placed a league-high 12 athletes on the all-conference team after winning a third straight MASCAC Outdoor Championship title.
Eliza Lee headlined the Owls performances on the day with Westfield winning ten events at the conference title meet on Saturday.
The Owls men’s and women’s track and field teams are set to compete in the outdoor title meet from Fitchburg, Mass. on Saturday beginning at 10:00 A.M.
Westfield’s performances were highlighted by Reese Stevens placing third in the 1500 with a time of 4.49.47.
Eliza Lee won three individual events to power women’s track and field to a strong showing at the 2026 Jerry Gravel Classic meet on Saturday afternoon.
The Owls will recognize their 18 senior athletes before beginning field events at 10:00am followed by track events at 11:00am.
Stevens crossed the line in 4:47.23 seconds in a field of 33 runners from Division I, II and III programs
Westfield State added another victory in the 3000-meter steeplechase, where Julianne Kelly finished first in 12:24.02.
Women’s track and field were a unanimous selection at number one while the men were second in the coaches’ poll.
Stevens, Kelly, and Hamel all ran provisional qualifying times for the New England Division III Championships later this spring.
Lee jumped 11.29 meters (37’-0.5”) in the triple jump
Chandonnet claimed the 3,000 meters in 10:36.34 to post a New England D3 meet qualifying time
Four Owls athletes won individual titles to go along with two team relay race winners.
The Owls won five individual events and two team relay races to cruise to the conference championship title.
The championship meet takes place on Sunday beginning at 5:00 P.M. from Wheaton College in Norton, Mass.
Eliza Lee won the 400, the long jump, and the triple jump to headline a strong evening for the Owls.
At Harvard, Shea Hamel placed seventh in the 5000 meters at the Harvard Invitational in a time of 18:38.62, setting an indoor best time
Westfield State athletes ran 1-2-3 in the 5000 meters, led by Shea Hamel in 19:03.32 followed by Reese Stevens and Sam Panzieri.
Shea Hamel finished first in the mile and third in the 1000 to front the Owls performance at Coast Guard.
Reese Stevens set a PR time in the 1000 and currently leads all NED3 runners in the event.
Westfield will next compete at the Dartmouth December Invitational next Saturday, Dec. 13, in Hanover, N.H.
