Richter swam 28.31 in the 50 butterfly final, placing fourth at the meet, but trimming .35 off of the record mark set by Owls’ hall of famer Vanessa Morton in 2004.

Westfield State senior Alexa Richter topped the 1000 freestyle to lead the Owls women’s swimming and diving teams efforts as they opened the season with a double-dual meet at Union College in Schenectady, N.Y.,  with Roberts Wesleyan College on Friday afternoon.
