Rennich, Berthiaume Receive MASCAC Recognition
Westfield State graduate student Jenn Rennich and first-year Morgan Berthiaume eached earned MASCAC honors this past week after the Owls won their second straight conference championship.
WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State University women's soccer graduate forward Jenn Rennich (Bedford, Mass.) and first-year midfielder Morgan Berthiaume (Webster, Mass.) are recognized this week as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference women's soccer Player and Rookie of the Week for their stellar performances this past week. The Owls were victorious 2-0 against Worcester State in a MASCAC Semifinal on Friday, November 4. On Sunday, November 6, the Owls were crowned MASCAC Champions for winning 1-0 against Fitchburg State.
Rennich is recognized as Player of the Week for earning tournament MVP honors after netting the lone goal in the championship game against Fitchburg State and assisting on Delaney Parker's (Orange, Mass.) goal against Worcester State.
Berthiaume earns Rookie of the Week honors for assisting on the Rennich tally in the championship game against Fitchburg State.
Westfield will kick off next in the NCAA national tournament after earning the automatic qualifying bid for winning their conference championship. The Owls will face Emerson College in the first round of the tournament at Scranton University in Scranton, Pennsylvania on Saturday, November 12 with the time still to be determined.
