Westfield State got two goals and two assists from Cooper Board, and linemate Louis Oullette added a pair of goals in his collegiate debut as Westfield State topped Franklin Pierce University, 5-3 in an opening round game of the Western Mass Invitational at Amelia Park Arena in Westfield.
The Owls used an explosive second period, outscoring Quebec 7-0 in the frame to put the game out of reach.
“Given our strong connection with Quebec it’s great opportunity for us to grow that relationship even more, and an opportunity for their players to see the campus and learn more about Westfield State and NCAA hockey,” said Westfield State head coach Bob Miele.
