WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State forward Jenn Rennich (Bedford, Mass.) received the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors after the Owls picked up a pair of wins this past week.
Rennich tallied three goals and two assists across both games, recording a goal and assist in a 2-0 win at UMass Dartmouth on Tuesday night. She then tallied two goals and a helper as Westfield (11-3-1, 6-0 MASCAC) clinched the MASCAC regular season title and number one overall seed in the conference tournament with a 4-1 win over Fitchburg State on Saturday as part of Homecoming Weekend and Senior Day.
On the season, Rennich is currently tied for 11th in Division III in goals, pacing the conference with 17 while also leading the MASCAC with 38 points.
Through her four-year career, Rennich has set program records in assists (42) and points (130) while ranking fourth in goals (44). She is seven goals behind all-time leading scorer Sandy Pinto (1994-97) as the Owls have two games remaining in the regular season, plus additional games in the upcoming postseason.
Westfield State enters the final week of the regular season with consecutive road games at Plymouth State on Wednesday at 3:00 P.M. followed by Salem State on Saturday with a 3:00 P.M. start time. A win on Saturday against Salem would mark the second straight season in which the Owls finished conference play with a perfect record in the regular season.
