Brenden LaForest (Westfield, Mass.) won the individual title in the 400 meters, and was part of Westfield State’s winning 4x400 meter relay team as the Owls placed second as a team at the 2022 MASCAC Championship Meet at Bridgewater State University.
Westfield State sophomore Colby Ranck (Chicopee, Mass. /Hampden Charter) won both the long jump and the triple jump to lead the Owls at their 2022 Jerry Gravel Classic track and field meet on Saturday afternoon.
Westfield State track and field is set to host the annual Jerry Gravel Invitational meet on Saturday, April 16. The field events are scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m, with the running events to start an hour later, at 11:00 a.m.
Senior Shane Clark won the javelin and posted strong finishes in the shot put and discus to lead the Westfield State men’s track and field team at the US Coast Guard Academy Invitational meet on Saturday.
Senior Mike Maher was one of two event winners for the Owls, as Westfield State competed at the Wheaton College Pre Post Season Invitational meet on Saturday in Norton, Mass.
Brendan Laforest and Victoria Marin each won events to highlight the Owls' weekend.
