The Owls host the AmCats for a Marquee MASCAC Matchup

WESTFIELD, Mass. — Men's ice hockey is back home on Saturday evening for just their second home game in the month of January to take on MASCAC newcomer Anna Maria at Amelia Ice Park Arena. Puck drops is 5:35 pm.
Westfield comes into this one as victors of five out of their last six games, including four coming as conference games. This stretch has turned around the Owls season as they now sit at 5-4 in the conference, which is good for fifth in the MASCAC, and 9-7 overall.
The AmCats come into this one 11-5 overall and 7-2 in the conference, which is good for second place in the league. Anna Maria is coming off an impressive 4-2 victory over the reigning MASCAC champions, Plymouth State. Plymouth went into that one undefeated in conference play at 9-0.
Westfield knocked UMass Dartmouth from third to sixth in the conference standing with a goal in the third period from Owls' junior forward Cooper Board (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) to propel them to a 2-1 victory. Board has netted seven goals while assisting on seven more for 14 points, which is just shy of his point total of 16 from a year ago - with nine more games remaining on the schedule. Christopher Miraldo (Montreal, Quebec) and Emile Pichette (Saint-Eustache, Quebec) are the point leaders for Westfield at 15 apiece. Miraldo leads the team with eight goals and Pichette leads the team in assists with nine.
First-year brick wall Aiden Winslow (Jacksonville, Fla.) leads the MASCAC in save percentage at .939, he also is second in goals against average at 2.21, and is fifth in total saves at 356.
Derek Raposo (Hannon, ON) is the points leader for the AmCats as he has 21 this season with17 being assists, he leads the MASCAC in assists and is third in total points. Matthew Gilbert (Wyandotte, MI) leads Anna Maria in goals with ten, that is good for fourth in the conference. Matthew Hennessey (Warman, SK) takes care of goalie duties for Anna Maria as he is third in the conference in GAA (2.61), fourth in saves (370), and fifth in win percentage at .545 percent.
