Moreland, Rogers, Jr. Claim MASCAC Weekly Honors
After winning the 2025 MASCAC Tournament championship, senior guard Lid Moreland (Bridgeport, Conn.) and first-year Kenneth Rogers, Jr. (Springfield, Mass.) swept the conference weekly honors with Moreland named the MASCAC Player of the Week while Rogers, Jr. was tabbed the Rookie of the Week.
WESTFIELD, Mass. – After winning the 2025 MASCAC Tournament championship, senior guard Lid Moreland (Bridgeport, Conn.) and first-year Kenneth Rogers, Jr. (Springfield, Mass.) swept the conference weekly honors with Moreland named the MASCAC Player of the Week while Rogers, Jr. was tabbed the Rookie of the Week.
Moreland and Rogers, Jr. led the Owls to win the MASCAC title for the fourth time under head coach Rich Sutter, defeating Salem State in a 96-63 win on Saturday.
Moreland produced a stat line of 18 points, seven rebounds, and six assists along with three steals. This performance combined with his 20-point semifinal game helped him secure the MASCAC Tournament MVP honors. On the season, Moreland ranks within the top five in scoring in the conference, averaging 17.3 points per game with that number spiking to 18.5 across 12 league games.
In his first ever MASCAC tournament playoff run, Rogers Jr. averaged 14 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.5 steals per game, and three assists per game. Rogers Jr. impressively passed the 500-point single season milestone, as he sits at 506 currently. Rogers Jr. enters the NCAA Tournament first place in the MASCAC in points per game (18.7) and second in rebounds per game (9.0).
With winning the MASCAC Championship, the Owls punched their ticket in the NCAA DIII men's basketball tournament and have drawn fifth-ranked Randolph-Macon (Va.) in an NCAA Tournament first round game beginning on Friday, March 7 at 3:30 pm at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Penn.
