Rogers, Jr. Nets Tenth MASCAC Rookie of the Week Honors
Westfield State first-year forward Kenneth Rogers, Jr. (Springfield, Mass.) continues to mount a dominant rookie campaign, capturing his tenth MASCAC Rookie of the Week honors this past week for the Owls.
WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State first-year forward Kenneth Rogers, Jr. (Springfield, Mass.) continues to mount a dominant rookie campaign, capturing his tenth MASCAC Rookie of the Week honors this past week for the Owls.
Rogers, Jr. averaged 15.0 points, 10.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 2.5 steals per game across a pair of games last week. Rogers, Jr. posted a 21-point scoring barrage against MASCAC opponent MCLA at home on Tuesday night. He also tallied in seven rebounds, four steals, and a pair of assists to help the Owls soar past the Trailblazers, 89-69.
Rogers, Jr. continues to shine as the MASCAC's leading scorer as he currently averages 18.4 points per game. He now averages a round 9.0 rebounds per game, second in the league. Rogers, Jr. is also sixth in the MASCAC in both assists per game (3.5) and steals per game (1.5).
Rogers, Jr. and Westfield return back home on Wednesday, February 12 as they host conference opponent Fitchburg State for a 5:30 pm tip-off as part of the Director of Athletics 3.0 Honor Roll night.
