Rogers, Jr. Earns Fourth Consecutive MASCAC Rookie of the Week Honors
Kenneth Rogers, Jr. is back again in the conference weekly honors as he has earned his fourth straight Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week honors.
WESTFIELD, Mass. — Kenneth Rogers, Jr. is back again as he has earned his fourth straight Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week honors.
Kenneth Rogers, Jr. (Springfield, Mass.) averaged 18 points and 8.3 rebounds this week in three games as he helped the Owls to a 2-1 week. In the 78-70 win over Elms College, Rogers, Jr. sported a hefty stat line of 25 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists. He then finished the week with a 24-point, ten rebound performance in the 92-73 road win at Colby-Sawyer.
Rogers, Jr. performances this week have helped him to second in the MASCAC in points per game with 18.7 along with 7.2 rebounds per game, which is fifth best in the conference. Rogers, Jr. is also sneaking his way up the list in free throw percentage as his 73.5 percent mark is sixth in the league while he is also connecting at a 37.1 percent rate from behind the arc which is eighth in three-point shooting percentage.
Rogers Jr. and Westfield will look to continue this hot streak as the Owls will take to the road and face Johnson & Wales on Tuesday, December 10 at 7:00 p.m. Westfield will try to continue their success as they have won four of their last five games, including three of those victories coming on the road.
