Hill Named MASCAC Rookie of the Week
Westfield State first-year Allie Hill, who is currently second in the MASCAC in total digs, earned the conference Rookie of the Week.
WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State first-year Allie Hill (St. Clair Shores, Mich.) received the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week for this past week.
Hill averaged 16 digs across a four-game span, while also adding seven assists and six service aces. She tied the team lead with 14 digs and four aces in a key conference-opening victory against Worcester State on Tuesday.
Hill also totaled 22 digs in a non-conference setback against Rivier over the weekend, which was the second highest total of her rookie campaign.
On the season, the first-year libero is currently second in the MASCAC in total digs, tallying 148 through her first ten collegiate matches. Her 4.11 digs per set leads the conference.
Westfield State will host two home matches over the course of the week beginning tomorrow where the Owls will match up against Simmons University at 7:00 P.M. before entering back into conference play for a MASCAC Semifinal re-match with Framingham State on Saturday at 11:00 A.M.
