The Worcester State volleyball team will be hosting a "Dig Pink" event to help raise money as part of October's Breast Cancer Awareness month. The event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 16, during the key conference tri-match that includes Framingham State and Westfield State. The first match begins at 11 a.m.and all three matches will be broadcast on www.mascac.tv. Westfield is scheduled to play Framingham at 1:00 and Worcester at 3:00.
Westfield and Framingham are tied for first place with 2-0 records. Bridgewater and Worcester own 3-1 marks.
In addition to pastries, water and pink volleyballs other pink paraphernalia will be on sale at the entrance to the Lancer Gym, with all proceeds going to The Side-Out Foundation. The organization helps both high school and college volleyball programs raise money to go towards research and other "living with cancer" organizations.
