WESTFIELD – The Westfield State University women’s volleyball team swept Lasell College, 3-0, (25-20, 25-21, 25-23) in a non-conference game on Thursday, Sept. 16.
Westfield, which defeated Lasell, 3-0, on Sept. 4, led for most of the first two games but trailed early in the final game. Lasell led 20-19 then Westfield closed out the sweep.
Alex Shaw led the Owls with 13 kills and two blocks and April Gordon had nine kills, two service aces and two blocks. Kerin DeGirolamo contributed 35 assists and two aces. Kayleigh Shea and Brittany Dussault had 17 and 11 digs, respectively.
Eileen Barrett (six kills) and Danielle Drapeau (five kills) led Lasell’s attack. Megan Crozier registered 22 assists.
Westfield upped its record to 6-4 and Lasell is 2-4.
