Lee improved her qualifying marks in both the long jump and triple jump after a pair of first place performances at the Massasoit Classic this past Saturday.
WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State women's track and field senior Eliza Lee (Walpole, Mass.) secured conference weekly honors this past Saturday at the Massasoit Classic as she received MASCAC Field Athlete of the Week honors.
Lee registered a pair of top performances in the triple jump and the long jump, leaping to the top mark in the triple jump in 11.44 meters while finishing with a best leap of 5.57 meters in the long jump. Both jumps improved her qualifying marks for the All-New England meet later in the season as her long jump has her placed 19th and is 11th in the triple jump on the national indoor list.
Her performance also carried over to the track as she also ran 8.19 seconds in placing seventh in the 60-meter dash, meeting a provisional mark for the New England Division III meet.
For Lee, this is the second time this season she has been named the conference's field athlete of the week, which also came at Springfield College in the season opening meet where she initially set New England Division III qualifying standards.
Westfield State will participate in the Harvard Invitational from Cambridge, Mass. on their next meet on Saturday, January 31.
