Lee Earns All New England Honors in Long Jump

WESTFIELD, Mass. --- Westfield State junior Eliza Lee (Walpole, Mass.) placed third in the women's long jump at the new England Division 3 championships at the US Coast Guard Academy in New London, Conn. on Friday afternoon.
Lee leapt 5.75 meters, a personal best, and for the moment places her 18th on the NCAA Division III performance list. Lee also will earn All-New England honors by virtue of her finish in the event.
Other top pefromances today for the Owls today sophomore Daniel Shea (Longmeadow, Mass.) placed 11th in the men's long jump with a mark of 6.70 meters, Will Buckley (Plymouth, Mass.) placed 14th in the men's 10,000 meters with a personal best time of 33:24.70. Devin Whalen (Marblehead, Mass.) ran a personal best time of 16.01 in the 100 high hurdles.
The Westfield women are in 15th place through the six events scored on Friday.
Competition continues at the meet on Saturday.
