Lee Wins 400 Meters at Dartmouth Invitational
Eliza Lee (Walpole, Mass.) won the women’s 400 meter dash to highlight the Westfield State women’s track and field team’s results at the Dartmouth December Invite meet in Lebanon, N.H. on Saturday.
WESTFIELD, Mass. — Eliza Lee (Walpole, Mass.) won the women's 400 meter dash to highlight the Westfield State women's track and field team's results at the Dartmouth December Invite meet in Lebanon, N.H. on Saturday.
Lee finished in first ahead of D1 Vermont's Inge Schmidt by less than a half of a second.
Another big event for Westfield was the women's 3000 meter run in which four Owls finished in the top six which as Tealei Chadonnet (Dracut, Mass.) finished second, Shea Hamel (Longmeadow, Mass.) finished fourth, Julianne Kelly (Natick, Mass.) finished fifth, and Reese Stevens (Agawam, Mass.) finished sixth.
Lee finished in fourth for women's long jump with 5.00 meters and fourth in women's triple jump with a score of 10.67 meters. Lee was followed by teammate Delaney Parker (Orange, Mass.) in fifth place in triple jump with a distance of 10.09 meters. The final standout the field events was Bronwyn Pinsly (Las Vegas, Nev.), who placed fourth in the shot put behind a trio of Dartmouth athletes with a toss of 11.34 meters.
Pinsly, Lee in the triple jump, and Chandonnet in the 3,000 each earned New England D3 meet qualifying marks.
The Westfield State women's track and field will take a break for the holiday season and return back in action with their next scheduled event coming on Saturday, January 18 as they head to the first Coast Guard Winter Invite Meet.
