The Westfield State women’s track and field team earned recognition as part of the 2023 NCAA Division III women’s track and field all-academic teams list this past week.
The Westfield State women’s track and field team won three individual events and secured a team relay title as the Owls finished in second place at the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship meet from Fitchburg, Mass. on Saturday.
The Westfield State women’s track and field team finished sixth at the Trinity College Invitational from Hartford, Conn. on Saturday.
Westfield State first-year Eliza Lee and sophomore Vicky Marin both tallied second place performances as the Owls competed at the Coast Guard Invitational from New London, Conn. on Saturday afternoon.
Vicky Marin led the way for the Owl women with three event wins and 38 total points, as she came home first in the 60 hurdles in 9.56 seconds, and won the long jump (4.84 meters ) and the triple jump (10.24 meters). Marin placed second in the high jump with a top mark of 1.56 meters.
