Westfield State University first-year Isabella Zeppa (Monson, Mass./Monson HS) was named as the Little East Conference women's swimming rookie of the week, the league announced Monday.
Zeppa won a pair of individual events and was part of the Owls winning 400-yard freestyle relay team on Saturday, scoring 56 of the Owls 496 points as the team won the Bridgewater State Invitational meet.
Zeppa topped the 50 freestyle with a time of 25:20 and the 50 backstroke (29:05). She placed second in the 100 freestyle.
The Owls will break for finals and the holiday break before returning to to training Jan 4-10 with a trip to North Palm Beach, Fla.
Westfield will be back in action at the Seven Sisters Invitational at Mount Holyoke on January 17.
