13 Owls Placed on LEC All-Academic Team
The Westfield State swimming and diving team placed 13 swimmers on the Little East Conference All-Academic Team.
WESTFIELD, Mass. – 13 Westfield State University women's swimming and diving student-athletes were named to the Little East Conference Winter 2021-22 All-Academic Teams.
Named to the conference All-Academic Team were: Madison Amaral (Fall River, Mass.), Kara Banagan (Niskayuna, N.Y.), Hannah Burns (Billerica, Mass.), Madison Cirillo (Hudson, Mass.), Molly Finnegan (Westport, Mass.), Lauren Harkins (Woburn, Mass.), Wiktoria Kaczor (Belchertown, Mass), Aly Locke (Brookfield, Mass.), Nicole Pechulis (Longmeadow, Mass.), Paige Reisman (Milford, Mass.), Alexa Richter (Westfield, Mass.), Emily Smith (Medway, Mass.) and Emma Towsley (West Springfield, Mass.).
301 student-athletes were selected across six winter sports – men's and women's basketball, men's and women's indoor track & field, along with men's and women's swimming & diving. To have a spot on the list, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore, maintain a GPA of 3.3 or higher through the previous semester, and have been enrolled at their current institution for a full calendar year.
Westfield State University is an affiliate member of the Little East Conference for women's swimming & diving in the winter season (field hockey in the fall). The rest of Westfield's all-academic placements are awarded by the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference.
