Robak DPOY, DeMember Rookie of the Year in MASCAC
Owls Land Six On All Conference Teams
WESTFIELD, Mass. - Westfield State women's soccer placed six players on the 2025 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference all-conference teams, highlighted by defensive player of the year Julia Robak, and rookie of the year Liv DeMember, the league announced on Wednesday.
That sextet led the Owls to a 9-5-6 overall record, a 6-0-2 mark in league play, and the conference tournament title with a 1-0 win over Worcester State in the championship game this past Sunday, earning the Owls a bid to the NCAA tournament, where they will face 12th-ranked Middlebury College on Saturday, Nov. 15 in the opening round.
Robak, a senior goalkeeper from Chicopee, Mass. posted a 0.67 goals-against average and had a .861 save percentage with seven shutouts and a 9-3-4 record in goal. She led the league in goals-against average and save percentage.
Robak has had an outstanding four-year career for the Owls, playing in 59 matches with a record of 35-15-6, and has 17 total and 12 shared shutouts, and a 0.97 GAA and a .804 save percentage.
DeMember, a midfielder from West Boylston, Mass. (Algonquin HS) is the Owls third straight conference rookie of the year, and the sixth time in the last eight season that Westfield has produced the top newcomer in the league. DeMember came on strong after missing four games early in the season to finish with four goals and five assists in 16 games played, and served up an assist on the game-winning goal in the MASCAC Championship game.
Robak was a first team all-conference pick, while DeMember was named to the second team. Robak was joined on the first team by midfielder Morgan Berthiaume (Webster, Mass./Douglas) and back Katie Slattery (Wilbraham, Mass./Minnechaug). Forward Kiana Muratsuka (Wahaiwa, Hi./Mililani) and back Kylie Tomasetti (Northboro, Mass./Algonquin) joined DeMember on the second team.
Berthiaume makes her third appearance on an all-conference team after being a first-team pick in 2024 and a second-team selection in 2023. She tallied three goals and five assists this season, tied for fourth in the league in assists. In 74 games as an Owls, she has registered 19 goals and 18 assists for 56 points.
Slattery earned all-conference honors for the first time. She started all 20 games and anchored the Owls back four that allowed just two goals in eight conference games, and posted 10 total shutouts on the season,
Tomasetti appears on the second team for the second straight season. She was named the league rookie of the year in 2024. This season, she has three goals and two assists for eight points, and is both a free kick specialist for the Owls and comes forward to head the ball on corner kicks.
Muratsuka earns all-conference recognition for the third time in three seasons since transferring to Westfield State. She was a first-team honoree in 2024 and '23. She ranked third in the league with six assitsts and scored three goals for a total of 12 points this season. She has career totals of 27 goals and 29 assists for 83 points. Muratsuka is tied for fifth in career assists at Westfield and is 10th in career points.
