Robak, Parker Earn MASCAC Weekly Honors
The Westfield State women’s soccer team had two top performers in the MASCAC conference this week to that were awarded Player of the Week honors with senior forward Delaney Parker (Orange, Mass.) and third year goalkeeper Julia Robak (Chicopee, Mass.) representing the Owls this week.
WESTFIELD, Mass. –The Westfield State women's soccer team had two top performers in the MASCAC conference this week to that were awarded Player of the Week honors with senior forward Delaney Parker (Orange, Mass.) and third year goalkeeper Julia Robak (Chicopee, Mass.) representing the Owls this week.
Parker was named the conference Offensive Player of the Week, scoring four goals, including a hat trick in a 4-0 win against Keene State, tallying to eight points this past week. She currently has six goals on the season, which is on pace to beat her 19 of last season.
Parker is currently leading the MASCAC in goals (6), shots (25), and points (12). Last season, Parker set program records in career goals and points and continues to build off those marks in her fourth season, totaling 72 goals and 172 points across 68 games played.
Robak had a strong week as over the two matches to secure the MASCAC Defensive Player of the Week. She had a .875 save percentage, 1.00 GAA and 14 saves. Robak posted a clean sheet on Wednesday as she posted a seven save shutout win, her second shutout of the year. Robak is third in the MASCAC in saves (37), second in save percentage (.804), and also second in goals against average (1.57).
Parker and Robak will lead Westfield to a home match Wednesday, September 18 against Eastern Connecticut State in a non-conference match at 7:00 P.M. at Alumni Field.
