Parker Receives MASCAC Honors
Owls forward Delaney Parker earns MASCAC player and rookie of the week
Westfield, Mass. – Westfield State first-year forward Delaney Parker (Orange, Mass.) earned the MASCAC player of the week and rookie of the week after registering two goals and an assist in a victory over Bridgewater State this past Saturday.
With the Owls trailing 2-1 late in the second half, Parker scored the equalizer in the 69th minute, and then netted the game-winning goal at the 85th minute. The two goal performance bumped Parker up to 21 goals on the season, which ties the single-season school record.
Entering the week, Parker still ranks second in Division III in goals while leading the nation in points (49). She has also tallied seven assists, ranking second on the team.
Westfield State (9-4-1, 5-0 MASCAC) will look to push the winning streak to five games and eight of their last nine as the Owls host UMass Dartmouth on Tuesday at 7:00 P.M. from Alumni Field in Westfield, Mass.
