Harvey Named MASCAC Player of the Week

Westfield State senior attacker Cassidy Harvey was recognized as the MASCAC Player of the Week after the Owls competed in their spring break trip from Panama City Beach, Florida this past week.

WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State senior attacker Cassidy Harvey (Niskayuna, N.Y.) received conference honors this past week, earning the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week after leading the Owls in Panama City Beach, Fla. during their spring break trip.

Harvey collected seven goals and three assists for 10 points in a 1-1 week for the Owls. She powered the Owls past Marymount (Va.) 18-7 by piling up five goals and three assists on Tuesday. She then netted two more goals in a narrow 11-9 loss to #25 ranked SUNY-Geneseo in their final spring break game on Thursday.

Harvey, who is majoring in Nursing here at Westfield State, is tied for the team lead in goals (14) and points (18) on the season.

Westfield State will host three home games this week, beginning today at 5:00 P.M. as the Owls faceoff against RPI from Alumni Field in Westfield, Mass. before entertaining Connecticut College and #RV Amherst College on Wednesday and Friday.
