Grant Receives MASCAC Player of the Week Honors

WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State senior forward Jordan Grant (Gray, Maine) started the season on a high note as she was named the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference Player of the Week after posting a double-double in 2024 season opener.
Grant led all players with 31 points and grabbed ten rebounds to lead Westfield to a 91-75 victory over Rivier University on the road Saturday afternoon. She needed just 20 shots to top the 30-point plateau, connecting on an efficient 55% of her shots on 11-20 shooting.
Grant, a two-time MASCAC All-Conference First Team selection, topped the 1,000-career point scoring mark last season and has averaged 15.7 points per game over 69 games over four seasons with the Owls. The 31 points were the second most points scored in a single game by Grant. The senior forward notched her fifth career double-double this past weekend as well.
Westfield State will be back in action this weekend as the Owls travel to Colby College to participate in the Gene DeLorenzo Tip Off Tournament, facing Thomas (Maine) on Saturday at 8:00 P.M. with the winner advancing to the championship game on Sunday while the loser will play in a consolation game.
