Grant Named to NEWBA All-Region Team
Westfield State junior forward Jordan Grant was named to the NEWBA All-Region Fourth Team after assisting the Owls to the MASCAC Championship game this past season.
WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State junior forward Jordan Grant (Gray, Maine) was recognized with regional honors as she was named to the New England Women's Basketball Association All-Region Fourth Team as voted on by coaches around the region for their impact on the hardwood during the regular season.
Grant, who was recently named to the MASCAC All-Conference First Team last week, was the Owls leading scorer, averaging the fourth-most points in the conference at 16.0 per game. She also led Westfield in rebounds (6.4) and field goal percentage (50.2%). She was one of two players in the MASCAC to be selected to an All-Region Team as 20 players throughout New England were recognized.
Westfield State finished the 2023 campaign with an overall record of 18-10 while earning the third seed in the conference tournament after concluding the conference regular season at 9-3. The Owls advanced to the MASCAC Championship game after picking up tournament wins over #6 MCLA at home and then #2 Framingham State on the road. Grant was the game-high scorer in two of the three matchups, and recorded double figures in all three postseason games.
The Owls season ended in the conference title game against top-seeded Bridgewater State, falling 64-59.
