Owls Canty Tabbed as MASCAC Pitcher of the Week
Canty has helped the Owls to a 5-1 start down in Florida
WESTFIELD, Mass. — Katherine Canty (Natick, Mass.) takes home the first MASCAC Pitcher of the Week honor of the 2025 softball season.
Canty threw eight innings as she struck ten and let up only one run in the two games she played on Friday and Saturday. Canty has helped the Owls to a 5-1 start down in Florida as she is 1-0 to begin the year with a no decision. Canty has accumulated a 0.88 ERA and a 0.75 whip in the eight innings. Last year she sported a 3.04 ERA over 94.1 innings pitched and a tally of 84 strikeouts.
Canty is third in the MASCAC with a 0.88 ERA and is also third in the MASCAC with ten punchouts. She is also tied for third in the league for wins with her win over SUNY Cobleskill in Florida.
Canty and the Owls start their season down south in Florida and will continue non-conference games down there all week with the next opponent coming as Wisconsin Superior on Wednesday, March 12 at 9:00 am.
