Seven Owls Named to MASCAC All-Conference Men’s Track and Field Team
Westfield State men’s track and field placed seven athletes on the 2025 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference All-Conference team after competing at the MASCAC Championship meet this past Friday. Athletes that finished first in their respective individual or team event were awarded all-conference recognition.
WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State men's track and field placed seven athletes on the 2025 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference All-Conference team after competing at the MASCAC Championship meet this past Friday. Athletes that finished first in their respective individual or team event were awarded all-conference recognition.
Sophomore Nathan Sylven (Wrentham, Mass.) earned all-conference honors in the 3,000 steeplechase (9:48.75), and the 5000 (15:51). First-year Theo Yetman (Franklin, Mass.) won the 400 with a time of 49.20 to claim all-conference honors. Sophomore Ali Warsame (Chelsea, Mass.) led all athletes with a 13.84-meter leap at the triple jump to obtain an all-conference nod.
The Owls were winners of the 4x800 relay with Rowan Gottshall (Simsbury, Conn.), Colin Mahoney (Plainville, Mass.), Gordon Johnson (Hanson, Mass.), and John Nekitopoulos (Chicopee, Mass.) finishing with a time of 8:25.42.
Westfield finished second overall at the MASCAC Championship meet from Bridgewater, Mass. this past Friday.
