Sylven Runs Third at Harvard
Westfield State sophomore Nathan Sylven (Wrentham, Mass.) ran to a third-place finish in the men’s 5,000 meters to highlight the Owls men’s track and field team’s performance at the Harvard Invitational meet in Cambridge, Mass. on Friday afternoon.

WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State sophomore Nathan Sylven (Wrentham, Mass.) ran to a third-place finish in the men's 5,000 meters to highlight the Owls men's track and field team's performance at the Harvard Invitational meet in Cambridge, Mass. on Friday afternoon.
Sylven clocked in at 15:28.94, dropping his personal best time by almost 27 seconds.
The other Owls competitors included Gordon Johnson (Hanson, Mass.), who was fifth in the 800 with a time of 2:03.11
John Nekitopoulos (West Springfield, Mass.) took seventh in the mile in 4:28.06
Scott Porter (Boylston, Mas.)was 13th in the 3000 meters in a time of 9:07.08.
The meet featured athletes from Division I, II and III schools.
Members of the Westfield State women's team will also compete at Harvard on Saturday, while other members of the Owls men's and women's teams will run at the Yankee Invitational at the Smith College track in Northampton, Mass. on Saturday.
