Mahoney Named MASCAC Rookie of the Week

Westfield State first-year Colin Mahoney was named the MASCAC Rookie of the Week after his finish in the 800m at the Coast Guard Invitational this past Saturday.

WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State first-year Colin Mahoney (Plainville, Mass.) received conference recognition this past week as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week after his performance in the 800m at the Coast Guard Invitational on Saturday.

Mahoney crossed the line third in the 800m at a time of 2:08.89.

The Coast Guard Invitational marked Westfield's first meet since December 10 where the Owls competed in the Utica Holiday Classic.

Westfield State will return to action next weekend where the Owls will participate in the Massasoit Classic from Springfield College on Saturday, January 21.
