Madden earns MASCAC Rookie of the Week
Westfield State University first-year high jumper Brogan Madden is recognized by the MASCAC for his performance in the Springfield College Invitational
WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State University first-year high jumper Brogan Madden (Northborough, Mass.) earns his first Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week recognition following the indoor track team's season opener from the Field House at the Springfield College Invite.
In his collegiate debut, Madden finished second in the high jump with a mark of 1.85 meters (6', 0.75"). Madden went through the entire competition without failing to clear the same mark twice. Madden cleared 1.75m on his second attempt, 1.8m on his second attempt, and 1.85 on his first attempt.
Madden sets a solid benchmark in the season opener, as this performance serves as a good starting point for him to beat as his season progresses.
The Owls' indoor track team will compete again on Saturday, December 10 from Utica College in Utica, N.Y. as they take on the Pioneer Winter Classic.
