Clark Places Second at MIT Final Qualifier

Westfield State senior Shane Clark wrapped up his 2022 season with a throw of 55.59 meters (182'-4") to place second at the MIT final qualifier meet in Cambridge, Mass. on Thursday afternoon.

UMass Dartmouth's Connor Richard won the event at MIT with a throw of 56.14 meters

Clark's mark was just short of his season best of 56.85 meters, which has him placed 29th on the NCAA performance list, which will leave him outside the 20 selections for the NCAA Division 3 championships, which will be announced later this week.

Clark has an additional year of eligiblity remaining due to the covid interruptions to seasons in 2020-21.   Also a running back and punter on the Owls' football team, Clark is planing to return to compete in both sports next year.
