Parakilas Earns MASCAC Offensive Player of the Week
Parakilas notched a four goal game to increase his conference-leading goal total to 18.
WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State senior forward Nick Parakilas (Broad Brook, Conn.) continued his sensational season by being named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference's Offensive Player of the Week.
Parakilas increased his conference-leading goal total by scoring four times to lead the Owls past MASCAC opponent Framingham State 5-4 on the road Saturday afternoon.
On the season, Parakilas has notched 18 goals which is seven more than the next closest player in the conference and earlier in the season he held the Division III national lead for goals scored. He has recorded two or more goals in seven matches thus far his four-goal game serving as a career high.
For Parakilas, this is the third time on the season he has been named the conference's Offensive Player of the Week.
A transfer from Springfield College in his junior year, Parakilas has proven to be an elite goal scorer with the Owls, tallying 23 career markers in 20 games played with Westfield.
Westfield State is down to just two matches left in the regular season as the Owls currently hold the third spot in the MASCAC standings. The Owls kickoff a trio of Homecoming games on Saturday, October 25 as Westfield (7-3-4, 3-1-2 MASCAC) take on Anna Maria College (3-9-2, 2-2-2 MASCAC) on Senior Day at 11:00 A.M. from Alumni Field in Westfield, Mass.
