Pichette Named MASCAC Player of the Week
Pichette scored two goals, including the game-winner to push his goal total to six on the season.
WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State junior forward Emile Pichette (Saint-Eustache, Quebec) was named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Co-Player of the Week after his performance last week.
Pichette scored a pair of goals, including the eventual game-winning marker as the Owls held on for a 3-2 victory over Southern New Hampshire in the second "Hockey Fights Hunger" game in Woburn, Mass. this past Tuesday. The Owls and Penmen raised funds and collected food for two local food banks before the holiday season that night.
On the season, the junior forward is off to a strong start this season for the Owls, leading the team with six goals while adding five assists to tie the team lead in points with 11. Pichette has been a consistent performer through the team's first eight games, collecting two points in five of those contests.
Westfield State has gotten off to a 3-0 start in conference play and ride a four-game winning streak heading into a week with two MASCAC opponents on the schedule, the first coming on Thursday as the Owls visit Anna Maria College for a 5:40 P.M. puck drop.
