Men’s Ice Hockey Picked to Finish Fourth in MASCAC Preseason Poll
The Owls collected 27 points to tie with Worcester in the preseason coaches’ poll.
WESTFIELD, Mass. – The Westfield State University ice hockey team was picked to finish in a tie for fourth place as part of the 2025-26 MASCAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, voted on by the coaches throughout the conference.
The Owls tied with Worcester State for the fourth spot, both collecting 27 points. Fitchburg State begins the year as the preseason favorites to repeat as conference champions, securing five of the seven first place votes for a total of 46 points. Anna Maria grabbed the remaining two first place votes for 43 points while Salem State rounded off the top three with 40 points.
Last season, Westfield finished the regular season with an overall record of 12-14. The Owls posted an 8-10 conference mark, advancing into the postseason as the seventh seed before falling in the opening round of the MASCAC Tournament to Anna Maria.
Forward Cooper Board (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) is back for his final season as he tied the team lead with ten goals last year while adding nine assists for 19 points. Emile Pichette (Saint-Eustache, Quebec) also returns as one of the Owls top six skaters, registering 23 points (seven goals, 16 assists) last year to lead all Owls.
Raphael Seguin (Saint-Lazare, Quebec) is back to command the Owls defense, adding 11 points as well.
In goal, Aiden Winslow (Jacksonville, Fla.) figures to shoulder the load in between the pipes after starting 17 games last year, recording a 2.71 goals against average and a .927 save percentage.
Westfield State will open the 2025-26 regular season on the road as the Owls visit Western New England for an 8:10 P.M. puck drop on Friday night.
