Carbone Named MASCAC Player of the Week
Westfield State senior forward JoJo Carbone received the MASCAC Player of the Week after his performance against Stonehill College this past Tuesday.
WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State senior forward JoJo Carbone (Marshfield, Mass.) earned the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week after his performance against transitional Division I-school Stonehill College this past Tuesday.
Carbone scored a pair of goals including the game-tying goal with just over five minutes left as the Owls rallied from a pair of two-goal deficits to secure a 5-5 tie against Stonehill. With the Owls trailing by a goal with a minute left in regulation, Carbone tied the game with a powerplay goal which would eventually lead to Westfield picking up a point and a half in the contest.
On the season, Carbone is tied for second on the team in goals scored (three). The two-goal effort could serve as the start of a hot streak for the Marshfield native who led the Owls in goals a season ago with ten.
Westfield State enters back into conference play this upcoming week, beginning Thursday on the road against Fitchburg State with puck drop scheduled for 6:30 P.M.
