Westfield State men's basketball alumnus Chris Caputo '02 has been named as the new men's basketball head coach at George Washington University, the school announced on Friday.

Westfield State men's basketball alumnus Chris Caputo '02 has been named as the new men's basketball head coach at George Washington University, the school announced on Friday.

Caputo served as a longtime assistant coach to Jim Larranaga at both George Mason and the University of Miami, where Caputo was part of the Hurricanes run to the Elite Eight this season and part of George Mason's final four appearance in 2006.

Caputo's move to GW was rumored during the NCAA Tournament and reported in this "Woj Bomb" on Thursday evening.
