Three Players Named to NFHCA Scholars of Distinction List
Senior Lindsey Spindel (Mendon, MA) and first-years Maddy Barry (Norwood, MA), and Kaleigh Murphy (Pembroke, MA) were each recognized for the award, which cites players with a 3.9 or higher cumulative GPA through the Fall 2022 semester.
Three Westfield State University field hockey athletes have been recognized as "Scholars of Distinction" by National Field Hockey Coaches Association.
Senior Lindsey Spindel (Mendon, MA) and first-years Maddy Barry (Norwood, MA), and Kaleigh Murphy (Pembroke, MA) were each recognized for the award, which cites players with a 3.9 or higher cumulative GPA through the Fall 2022 semester.
This past season the Westfield State field hockey team ended with a 10-9 record overall, with a 7-5 record in the Little East Conference (LEC). After the conclusion of the regular season the team earned the seventh seed in the LEC Tournament before their season ended with a heartbreaking defeat to Worcester State in the first round of the Tournament by a 3-2 final score.
In total, 477 Division III athletes were recognized by the NFHCA.
