WESTFIELD, Mass. - Westfield State freshman Allie Giguere (Bishop Fenwick/Lynn, Mass.) scored a goal for he third straight game, but Westfield State fell to defending league champion Keene State by a 5-1 count in Keene, N.H., on Saturday.
Giguere got the Owls on the board first in the 17th minute scoring with an assist from classmate Cheryl Latona (Granby, Conn.).
From there, Keene State dominated the scoring with five unanswered goals, including three from Nina Bruno.
Keene held a 19-3 advantage in total shots, and had an 11-4 margin in penalty corners in a game that was a rematch of the 2017 Little East Conference title game.
Westfield falls to 4-7 overall and 3-3 in the LEC, while Keene improves to 9-1 and 5-0 in the conference.
