Henderson Earns MASCAC Rookie of the Week Honors
Westfield State first-year Corey Henderson received conference honors this past week as the defensive back earned the MASCAC Rookie of the Week for his efforts this past weekend.
WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State first-year Corey Henderson (Gardner, Mass.) received conference honors this past week as the defensive back earned the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week for his efforts this Saturday against Worcester State.
Henderson secured the game-sealing interception on the goal line on the final play of the game to propel the Owls to a 35-27 victory over Worcester State. He also added a pair of tackles for Westfield, which advanced to 2-1 in the conference with the road victory.
On the season, Henderson has delivered a pair of strong performances over the last two weeks as the Gardner, Mass. native entered play on Saturday after recording five tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, a sack, and one pass breakup against Western Connecticut in week three.
Westfield State (2-2) will remain on the road in week five as the Owls travel to Vermont-State Castleton on Saturday, October 5 at 2:00 P.M.
