Owls' Julian Named MASCAC Special Teamer of the Week
Westfield State sophomore defensive back Christian Julian (Hingham, Mass.) earned the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week Award, after scoring on a 75-yard punt return against UMass-Dartmouth.
WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State sophomore defensive back Christian Julian (Hingham, Mass.) earned the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week Award, after scoring on a 75-yard punt return against UMass-Dartmouth.
Julian fielded the punt at his own 25-yard line and swept down the right side of the field for the score. Julian's TD (and the ensuing 2 point conversion) gave Westfield a 10-6 lead early in the second quarter. Julian also added four tackles, and handled kickoffs for the Owls.
For the season, Julian is fifth on the squad with 29 tackles, and has forced one fumble and recovered another.
Westfield State will be back in action next Saturday, October 23 with a 4 p.m. conference kickoff at Bridgewater State.
