McNamara Named MASCAC Pitcher of the Week

WESTFIELD, Mass. –Westfield State sophomore Sean McNamara (Lowell, Mass.) earned the MASCAC Pitcher of the Week honor after a career-best outing on the mound on Friday.

McNamara threw a complete game shutout against MASCAC opponent Worcester State. In the shutout, McNamara threw seven innings only giving up one hit while striking out 16 batters in 21 outs.

McNamara now improves to four wins on the year, tied for first in the league. He also has 50 strikeouts which is second best in the conference. To tie it all together, he has the fourth best earned run average in the MASCAC at 3.94.
