Lapierre Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State senior pitcher Ryan Lapierre (Pittsfield, Mass.) added to his collection of postseason honors for the 2024 season as he earned a spot on the College Sports Communicators (CSC_ Academic All-District Team.

The 2024 Academic All-District baseball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance on the diamond and in the classroom. Students who qualified for such recognition maintained a minimum grade-point average of 3.5 or higher and must be a strong contributor to the team's success.

Lapierre, who was most recently named an ABCA/Rawlings All-American, received academic recognition as well and has qualified to advance as a CSC Academic All-America finalist which will be revealed on July, 2.

The senior right-hander has secured a laundry list of items this season as he was also named the MASCAC Pitcher of the Year after compiling a perfect 9-0 record with a conference-leading 1.63 earned-run average, striking out 72 over 66.1 innings pitched.

Lapierre was also an ABCA/Rawlings and D3baseball.com All-Region selection and was named the Westfield State University Male Athlete of the Year as well.

A two-year starting pitcher for the Owls after transferring from Division I Hartford, Lapierre registered a 13-4 record in 20 games, posting a 2.77 ERA and 173 strikeouts over 130.0 innings pitched.
