WESTFIELD, Mass. – Sophomore Pat Nelson scored two goals and freshman Danny Kaufman had a goal and two assists to lead Westfield State to a 6-3 victory over Franklin Pierce in non-conference men’s ice hockey on Thursday, Nov. 12.

Westfield is 2-0 while Franklin Pierce dropped to 1-3.

The teams traded goals thru most of the first two periods. With the score tied at 3-all, Nelson scored the game winner with 57 seconds left in the second stanza with an assist from Dylan Scanlon.

Kaufman and Nelson scored insurance goals in the third period.

Half of the Owls goals were scored on power plays. Junior Dennis Zak and sophomore transfer Ryan Cotcamp both tallied a goal and an assist for the Owls.
